You can spot a skid steer or skid loader around any construction or landscaping projects or even in the farmlands and or industries which require loading. It is a great sight to see a skid loader to work. It is a mid sized rigid frame, engine powered machine combined with powerful lift arms conveniently used to attach a wide variety of labor saving tools and attachments. The skid steers are power-packed four wheel drive vehicles with the left side and the right side wheels independent of each other for greater maneuverability. By having each side of the skid loader be independent of the other side, wheel speed and direction of rotation of the wheels determine the direction the loader will turn, making it handier in tight spaces.
Skid steers are best for a job which requires a compact agile loader as it is able to turn in its own tracks making it extremely maneuverable. The skid steers are mean machines and can replace an excavator for digging holes. There is a difference in a conventional front loader and a skid loader, and unlike the front loader the lift arms in these machines lie alongside the driver with the major pivot points behind the driver's shoulders. This allows the driver the proximity of moving booms and buckets. Today the skid loaders have fully-enclosed cabs and other safety features to protect the operator from injury from an accident and this factor has improved from the earlier skid loaders. The skid steer can scrape material from one location to another like the conventional front loader and can carry material in its bucket or load material into a truck or trailer.
